Nepal Floods: Emergency Support for Mothers and Newborns
On August 26, 2026, the collapse of a glacier sent flash floods surging down the Bhotekoshi and Trishuli rivers in central Nepal. Entire villages were swept away. Homes, roads, bridges, and health facilities are gone. Hundreds of people have died, and thousands more are missing or displaced.
Two of the hardest-hit districts, Nuwakot and Dhading, are places where One Heart Worldwide has worked alongside the Government of Nepal for years. The Government of Nepal has now appealed to international partners, including One Heart Worldwide, for emergency support.
For pregnant women, new mothers, or newborns in these affected districts, this catastrophe means losing their homes but also losing access to safe healthcare at the moment they need it most.
Our team on the ground is ready. We will deliver emergency supplies to displaced families. We will ensure that health facilities can continue to provide safe maternal and newborn care. And we will coordinate closely with the Government of Nepal and other organizations so that help reaches the families who need it most.
Your gift today helps a displaced family find shelter, warmth, food, and safe care for a mother and her baby.
